Šamánek (Little Shaman), originally named Volšoveček, our beloved thoroughbred, has had a rich sporting career. As a former steeplechase runner, he participated in many prestigious races, including the famous Captain Popler Memorial. However, his dynamic life on the race tracks was interrupted by a tendon injury, after which Volšoveček had to give up his racing career.
After recovery, he began a new chapter as a hobby horse. His gentle nature and non-confrontational character made him an ideal candidate for the next phase of his life. Due to difficult life circumstances, Volšoveček came to our herd, where he started a new life full of peace and care he needed.
Volšoveček quickly showed that his sporty days full of tension and performance could be successfully replaced by roles in a hippotherapy rehabilitation program. His ability to adapt and his non-confrontational, easy-going nature allow him to excel in working with people who turn to hippotherapy for support and healing.
Now, as a calm and balanced member of our herd, Volšoveček helps shape experiences and strengthen bonds with those who come to us seeking comfort and support. His presence in our program is not just an enrichment for our herd, but especially for all who are fortunate to spend time with him in therapy.
